DDP shipping guide

DDP shipping from China to USA, explained clearly.

What an all-in quotation can cover, where the boundaries are, and what importers and e-commerce brands should prepare before requesting a route.

What does DDP mean in a logistics quote?

DDP means “Delivered Duty Paid” under the Incoterms® rules, but a freight quote still needs a precise cargo basis, delivery point and service scope. For an eligible Voreline shipment, an all-in DDP quotation can combine the agreed China pickup or handling, international freight, customs handling, applicable duties under the quoted basis and final delivery.

The written quotation matters more than the label. It should identify the product, quantity or weight basis, origin, destination, mode, included handling and important exclusions. Changes to the goods or destination can change the route and cost.

Can DDP shipments go to Amazon FBA?

Eligible air or sea shipments can be coordinated to the Amazon FBA facility assigned in the seller's shipment plan. The seller must provide current destination, product, label and delivery instructions. China-side preparation, carton labeling, palletization, appointments and final delivery are included only when stated in the confirmed scope.

Why cargo review comes first

Product classification, material, use, brand, batteries, liquids, powder, magnets, wood packaging and other characteristics can affect eligibility, documentation, duty and routing. Hiding or changing product facts creates cost and compliance risk. A responsible provider reviews the cargo before promising a route.

Information to prepare

  • Accurate commercial product description, material and intended use
  • Supplier city and cargo ready date
  • Carton count, dimensions, gross weight and total CBM
  • U.S. ZIP code, warehouse address or Amazon FBA destination code
  • Details of batteries, liquids, magnets, brands or regulated features
  • Required China-side inspection, labeling, repacking or consolidation

Customs and compliance boundary

Voreline coordinates customs clearance through licensed U.S. customs brokers. No provider should promise zero inspections, guaranteed clearance or acceptance of every sensitive product. Government authorities, carriers and licensed professionals retain their own review and decision-making roles.

Planning takeaway:

Ask for a quote that identifies the cargo basis, destination, included duties and handling, delivery scope and known exclusions — not just a number per kilogram.
